Waxwing 06

These beautiful birds made a visit to the UK this winter in large numbers, presumably due to harsher than normal weather in their home ground of Russia and Scandinavia.   I was lucky and didn't need to travel far for my viewing - a flock of over 100 gave me a visit in Coleford for over a week in January 2006.  The weather was unfair for photography throughout the week, except for a brief moment when the sun came out on the second day.  These photos where the result.
